Re: [pyrnet] Thyriod Problem & Stains

Thyroid diseases are autoimmune diseases that can be triggered from trauma.
If Melvin is overweight and the vet suspects thyroid, a simple blood test
will confirm it. If confirmed, most likely Melvin is hypothyroid where the
thyroid is not producing enough hormones and the metabolism is slowing down.
I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and had my thyroid removed so that now
I am technically hypo. I take synthroid every day (pill form). I don't
know what they would do for a dog.

Also, there are many autoimmune diseases and once you are diagnosed with
one, it's likely you will get another. At least that's the way it is with
humans.

Valjean has diabetes which is in excellent control but could very easily get
thyroid, rheumatoid arthritis, adrenal disease, or one of the others. We
just don't worry about what we can't control.

I don't know about the stains.

Hope this helps some.

Christine, Valjean (Pyr), and Tori (Sammy)

I haven't heard of this. Does anyone have any personal experience on the
subject?

anyone know of an effective way to get these off?
