Re: [WW] Officer's purpose

Check out the description of the Rank feat in the
class descriptions. A Grunt who takes Rank starts as
Sergeant (p. 27), and has to burn a feat choice to do
it. An officer is automatically a 2nd Lieutenant (p.
29).

So, in the situation you've outlined, if the
powergamer doesn't go for the Officer class, get one
of the other players to do it, and make a point of
either keeping the powergamer under a tight leash or
(if he keep ignoring the Officer) busting him down
until he's no longer going on missions.

If he *does* go for the Officer class, make sure he
realizes that if he bucks the system he'll never
advance in Rank, and that he may soon be overtaken by
a fellow player who will replace him in the pecking
order.

It may get him to quit, and it may get him to see the
light o' day.

Good fighting,
Ivan
