I had an old Queensland Heeler who had low thyroid and was on
medication and he still seemed to sleep more than normal, with less
energy. The vet suggested a "senior" dog food. He perked right up
and had more energy. I watch my old pyr gal closely now that she is
7, she seems to be doing fine on adult food, so I don't plan on
switching her to senior food unless I see signs.
