Linda, According to AKC the top fifty favorite breeds include the Great Pyr at about 3000 dogs. Of those, there are 800 GPCA members. If they are all breeders, it means that each owns about 40 dogs. Does that sound accurate? Voting for changes in breed standards, should be left to experts. But other than that if these clubs are for the good of the breed, why be restrictive in the membership?
